Must be medically fit for sea service as per DG Shipping Merchant Shipping (Medical Examination) Rules-2000.
Eyesight:No color blindness (tested using the Ishihara chart). Vision requirements vary but generally must be good (e.g., 6/6 unaided or 6/9 in better eye for officer courses).
Passport:A valid Indian passport is mandatory for applying to most pre- sea courses.
